To Kill A Monster and Ranger Danger At Victory's

Last friday's show at Victory's was a pretty interesting evening. I think Jon put it best "Last night was simultaneously the biggest headache ever and a super-great awesome time. Thanks to everyone who contributed to either side of that coin."
Starting with watching your friends becoming more irritated after every song (and break) from a 80's cover band playing longer than originally promised and finally ending with a song they already played. I'm sure I'll elaborate more but I'm saving it for a short story at the moment.
But once they got off they got off the stage everything went smoothly. To Kill A Monster was amazing. I had heard of them before, yet this was my first time seeing them. They seemed relaxed and fun and all their songs have been stuck in my head
Ranger Danger was great as usual. Their newest songs sound fantastic and I can't wait to get my hands on a recording. The set was a nice reward for their patience, good crowd, good sound, good lights.

Friday the 13th

It might have been Friday the 13th but there was no bad luck at the Scarlet and Grey Café
Scarlet and Grey really stepped up their game with sound and lighting. All four bands rocked the scene.
Scotty and the future, from Saint Louis, started us off with his two piece set with Sammy Dodge of the Up All Nights. It was my second time seeing Scotty perform and was better than the last time. Though I’m beginning to suspect that there really isn’t a drummer that Sammy is filling in for. Sam is still a good drummer, even with the drum set moving away from him.

Fallowed by Lugosi from Columbus. This was the first time I actually saw them. The first time I went with some friends to the Cadaver Dogs house and the second time I was busy talking with the Up All Nights. They were good but their set ran a bit long so I lost interest after a while. But the crowd, that was mainly there to see them, enjoyed it beginning to end.

Next was the Cincinnati based Kickaways that I love! I saw them last time in when they were in Columbus and it was love at first note. They delivered it again. I got to talk to Remi Bleu a little after the show and bought a t-shirt from him. They are next on my list as a cartoon subject and fortunately they just announced that they are taking request for an album cover design!

And last but most certainly not least, the Up All Nights. Any show of theirs that ends with everybody up on stage with them is always a good show. I don’t know what more to say other than it was a great show and I cannot wait till the next one.

Up All Nights At O'Sheckys

Part 2 of my birthday party and this was my friend Julia's first local show. I've never been to O'Sheckys before. The layout was pretty cool and the sound was good. The lighting sucked however so theres not many photos
